Ladies and Gentleman! Please Clear the Track we still have Runners....


So, I have on my training schedule for the Austin 1/2 Marathon to do a track workout yesterday. warm-up, 8x400 double the run for rest, cool down.

An Aside:I clearly remember "please clear the track we still have runner" being said over and over during my junior high athletic attempt at track. In a small town you participate in all sports, but I clearly should NOT have been in track...maybe tennis....i was the shot put/discus girl...you know the "big" girl.

So, i start my warm up feeling okay, still sore from core the day before and then prepare for the 400's...

GOOD LORD! Why was I right back there in junior high trying to run the 800 meter relay. I HATE TRACK! Feel like my legs are bricks...take that back Cement Blocks!!! I did stay on some what of a pace...for those of you who know me, you know that since the years of basketball and always being on "the clock" i could care less what me time is as long as i'm not last.

But i am growing more with that and realizing that maybe some day i will be a little faster.

It is strange though how through exercise you can make since of crap. How you can move through stuff/people you are still hanging on to. It could be the lack of oxygen to my brain, but I am seeming to be able to move past and on.

While I am hopeful that my knees and body will hold up and will carry me to the finishline, i did gain an interesting bit of knowledge that i have heard a few times now.....HORMONES RELEASED DURING SEX HELP TO LUBRICATE THE JOINTS.....LOOK OUT BOYS, MAMA'S GOT A RACE TO PREPARE FOR....It's for medicinal purposes!!!!!
