....i don't think the purpose of going to multiple core classes during the week is to look like this at my desk...

Ladies and Gentleman! Please Clear the Track we still have Runners....

So, I have on my training schedule for the Austin 1/2 Marathon to do a track workout yesterday. warm-up, 8x400 double the run for rest, cool down.

An Aside:I clearly remember "please clear the track we still have runner" being said over and over during my junior high athletic attempt at track. In a small town you participate in all sports, but I clearly should NOT have been in track...maybe tennis....i was the shot put/discus girl...you know the "big" girl.

So, i start my warm up feeling okay, still sore from core the day before and then prepare for the 400's...

GOOD LORD! Why was I right back there in junior high trying to run the 800 meter relay. I HATE TRACK! Feel like my legs are bricks...take that back Cement Blocks!!! I did stay on some what of a pace...for those of you who know me, you know that since the years of basketball and always being on "the clock" i could care less what me time is as long as i'm not last.

But i am growing more with that and realizing that maybe some day i will be a little faster.

It is strange though how through exercise you can make since of crap. How you can move through stuff/people you are still hanging on to. It could be the lack of oxygen to my brain, but I am seeming to be able to move past and on.

While I am hopeful that my knees and body will hold up and will carry me to the finishline, i did gain an interesting bit of knowledge that i have heard a few times now.....HORMONES RELEASED DURING SEX HELP TO LUBRICATE THE JOINTS.....LOOK OUT BOYS, MAMA'S GOT A RACE TO PREPARE FOR....It's for medicinal purposes!!!!!

Here Comes the Bride....

So my sister is engaged and getting married and as "maid of honor" i have offered to help with getting some of the logistics, like booking hotel rooms, since i did all of that for AAU....

If i get another "CONGRATULATIONS" I might hurt myself!

Recollection

I am slowly remembering what all was in my bags that were theived. One thing was my favorite tweezers. Many may wonder why on earth tweezers are such a big thing, but as i am getting older...AND WISER i am realizing all the crazy hairs that just decide that they are going to make their presence known as you are on your way to meet people....i will tell you though, tweezing in the sunlight....you get all those little hairs.

Had a good weekend. Went on an retreat for this ministry i am part of at my church.. It was on the pedernales river and truly AMAZING.....it was so quiet, dark....in the words of Amber, " it forces you to think!"

Before i could head to those festivities though, i wanted to get in a swim workout....Coach Pain (Chrissie) was there in the freezing morning air laying it down on us!! It was good and I headed home to wash up the hair....i even styled it and get dressed.

Then my friend called to see if i was up for breakfast...HECK YES, so off to Maria's we went (my third trip there of the week!) Enjoyed by vegitarian taco, some chips and salsa....we were finishing up and then....

A BIRD POOPED ON MY HEAD!!! I was so embarrassed! Got out of there before making a spectacle and headed home to pack my bag for the weekend.

It has been a wonderful week in Austin, Texas. Amazing sunrises and sunsets....just chilly enough for a jacket, even a scarf, but not super windy!!! Truly is beautiful to live in this city and to get to do so many things outdoors, except when you get out of the pool and it's 45 degrees....brrrrrrrrrrr
